Was your flight delayed or cancelled?
Under EU rules, for a long delay, cancellation or denied boarding the airline must pay the passenger up to €600 in cash compensation.
How much compensation you can get
The amount depends on the flight distance (EU Regulation 261/2004).
| Flight distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,500 km | 250 € |
| 1,500–3,500 km | 400 € |
| Over 3,500 km | 600 € |
When are you owed compensation?
- You reached your destination more than 3 hours late.
- Your flight was cancelled with less than 14 days’ notice.
- You were denied boarding because the flight was full (overbooking).
Which flights are covered?
All flights departing from an airport in an EU country, and flights into the EU operated by an EU airline. For example, Baku to Europe with an EU airline, or Europe to Baku with any airline.
When isn’t it paid?
If the delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline’s control — bad weather, airport or air traffic control strikes, security risks — compensation is usually not paid.
Claim deadline
You can claim for several years after the flight — the deadline depends on the country. Keep your ticket, boarding pass and delay information.
Let them handle the claim for you
These services handle the correspondence with the airline and, if needed, the court case. Their fee is charged only when compensation is received.
